Galatasaray vs Sivasspor

Galatasaray have a 1-0 lead with eight minutes left to play. Pressing for second goal to seal the points, Gala play the ball forward to Cihan. He finds a defender between himself and goal and suddenly gravity starts to pull on him a little harder than on anyone else. The linesman’s flag goes up just as quickly as Cihan flops to the turf. This is the prelude to a singular penalty.

The referee signals to play on and the linesman puts his flag down. But Hakký Hocaoðlu - the Sivasspor club captain, presumably not appointed to the position for his razor sharp mind - only has eyes for the pretty yellow flag.

He bends down to pick up the ball, but not before taking a touch into the area so that he can give away a penalty instead of a free kick.

Show me a sillier spot kick and I’ll show you a lynching under the crossbar.
