Sneaky free-kick

Barcelona went top of La Liga on Sunday night with a 2-0 win over struggling Recreativo Huelva. This video shows Barça’s opening goal - a cleverly worked free-kick.

Eto’o eclipses Higuaín

Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuaín scored four goals at the weekend, to lift his team to a thrilling 4-3 victory over Málaga. Normally this would be a unique feat, something really out of the ordinary. Well, it wasn’t. Not last Saturday. Not in La Liga.

Higuaín hat-trick (+1)

On Saturday, Málaga took the lead at the Bernabéu on three separate occasions. But every time they scored, Gonzalo Higuaín found an equaliser for Real Madrid. In the 79th minute, the Argentinian striker sealed a 4-3 win for Madrid with his fourth goal of the game. The video highlights show all seven strikes and Sergio Ramos’s red card, which left Madrid with only ten men for the whole of the second half.

The fact that two of Higuaín’s goals were penalties shouldn’t lessen the feat of scoring four times in one game. After all, he earned both spot-kicks himself. He now has nine La Liga strikes to his name this season. That puts him in third place in the top goalscorer table, four goals behind Barcelona’s Samuel Eto’o.
