Acrobatic Ibrahimovic pass

Zlatan Ibrahimovic isn’t prone to sharing the ball with his team-mates. Given the choice between making a pass or shooting for goal, the Swedish striker will go for glory more often than not.

He does, however, make a habit of contorting his body in order to find the back of the net. And when there’s acrobatic limb twisting involved, he’ll pass the ball too. Take a look at this video.

The incredible circus pass to Dejan Stanković didn’t lead to a goal, but Ibrahimovic did make it onto the scoresheet. He grabbed the final goal in Inter’s 3-0 win over Lazio on Saturday. The Nerazzurri are now nine points clear at the top of Serie A.

Del Piero standing ovation

Alessandro Del Piero turned the clock back on Wednesday night with a virtuoso Champions League performance. The Italian striker, who is 34 today, grabbed two goals as Juventus defeated Real Madrid 2-0 in Spain.

The video highlights show both strikes, including the second-half free-kick which sealed the points for Juve. You’ll also be able to see the incredible reaction of the home fans to Del Piero’s performance. Despite being the architect of Real’s downfall, the Bernabéu crowd rose as one to applaud him off the pitch when he was substituted in injury time.

Freak Reno Gattuso injury

On Thursday night, Braga take on AC Milan at the San Siro. Gennaro Gattuso will be at the heart of the Rossoneri’s midfield for the Group E UEFA Cup match, having recently recovered from injury. The Italian bashed his head and dislocated all five fingers of his left hand during an incident in a training match. He also required an operation to repair a broken metacarpus. Who caused this terrible physical damage? Watch the video to find out.
