Shapely shies
Arsenal lost valuable title race points yesterday, going down 2-1 to Stoke City in the Potteries. The Gunners were the latest Premier League victims of Rory Delap’s long throw-ins. The Anglo-Irish midfielder caused havoc all afternoon and set up both Stoke goals from the touchline.
Ricardo Fuller got the first. Seyi Olofinjana bundled home the ball for the second.
Delap’s special talent has been a potent weapon this season. Stoke have scored 13 league goals in 11 games; eight of those have come from long throws. Wigan will be the next club to try and devise a defence against it on Saturday.

Almunia should have come to get the first one. He had bags and bags of room and didn’t go anywhere. There’s no excuse for that. It’s weak goalkeeping.

Two goals from throw-ins against Arsenal, one last week against Sunderland… Who did they score the other goals against?
