Ibrahimovic golazo

This is Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s goal from the Inter-Bologna match last month. You’ll have to suspend your disbelief for this one. It’s extraordinary.

Extraordinary and difficult to describe. The press have settled on the phrase “volleyed backheel”. Now that sounds good and it’s a neat way of pigeon-holing the goal, but is that really what Ibrahimovic does to the ball? I think he might have hit it with the outside of his boot, rather than the heel.

Either way, it’s brilliant and very similar to a famous Johan Cruyff strike for Barcelona. Footage of the Dutchman’s goal is coming soon. Something else for you to puzzle over.

Ha-ha! He started preening before the ball had even settled in the net!

Yeah, that was pretty nauseating. Zlatan’s very aware of his own greatness. :-)

He only ever scores ridiculous goals, you know, real improbable, acrobatic stuff. It’s great to watch, but I’d rather have a striker who takes the easy chances too. Henrik over Ibrahimovic, every time.
